The Unibet Sportsbook app has an immense choice of sporting events covering all leagues and competitions across all sports. Players are literally spoilt for choice with the huge volume of matches available to bet on, on a daily basis. The Unibet App is free to download on iOS and Android devices. Please note that real money games are not available through mobile web browsers.
Unibet is one of the biggest online bookmakers on the planet, serving millions of punters every single year. However, as you’ve probably learned by now, size means nothing! Being a big name does not mean they are any good.
You must be over 21 to play and bet on Unibet. If you or someone you know has a gambling problem and wants help, call 1-800 GAMBLER. IGaming Licence Number – IG-117021-1 Sports Wagering Licence Number – 117021-2 Downs Racing, LP d/b/a Mohegan Sun Pocono License Number is #1267. The unibet mobile apps for Android operating system are the most popular. Over the past year, several thousand types of such applications have been downloaded by fans all over the world. The mobile unibet app is no exception. It is the most downloaded program on the site, plus it is regularly updated. There’s also a downloadable Unibet app which is available to iOS and Android users. It’s free to download – but to be honest it’s not too different from their mobile-optimized website.
Our Rating: (1.2 / 5)
The truth is that despite their long-standing history, recently I’ve found a lot of players voicing concerns about the site. So in this Unibet app review, I’m going to give you an idea of what to expect when betting there – and why you should strongly consider not betting at Unibet.

Key Features
One of the biggest complaints I came across online when looking at player’s experiences at Unibet is the bet-limiting measures the bookie appears to implement on punters. It’s completely normal for bookmakers to reduce the amount of money punters can wager on events, if that punter has been winning a lot of money. However, many bettors at Unibet appear to have had their accounts severely limited for winning nominal amounts of money. For example, one complaint read that a bettor was only allowed to wager $1 or less – because they won $130 on another bet. What’s worse, when they voiced their concerns to Unibet they were given the hand – they weren’t willing to look into the case and consider revoking the limit.
This seems to be a really common theme at Unibet, and there are hundreds of punters voicing similar concerns online. Also worrying is the number of bettors stating Unibet are deliberately stalling their withdrawals. Later on in this review I’m going to be taking a closer look at this – I strongly suspect it has something to do with the so-called SOW (Source of Wealth) requests.
Website / App Design & Ease Of Use
As much as I don’t like the site, one thing I can’t really fault Unibet on is their website’s layout and ease of use. Everything is pretty well laid out, and navigation around the different markets is as simple as possible.
I think the biggest issue I have with the layout is the live betting/in-play section. The events are displayed in a way that makes it quite confusing – and if you’re in a rush (which I find is all too often the case when placing in-play bets) it can all get a bit confusing.
There’s also a downloadable Unibet app which is available to iOS and Android users. It’s free to download – but to be honest it’s not too different from their mobile-optimized website. Both the mobile app and the mobile-optimized website work pretty well – but it’s not the fastest, and creating an account on the mobile app could definitely be easier.
Software
Unibet Casino App
Unibet’s sports betting software appears to be proprietary. However, if you play in their online casino you’ll be played on Playtech’s platform – one of the world’s largest iGaming companies.
Choice of Betting Markets
Unibet offers quite a large selection of betting markets, and you’ll be able to place bets on: American Football, Athletics, Australian Football, Badminton, Bandy, Basketball, Beach Volleyball, Boxing, Chess, Cricket, Cycling, Darts, Entertainment, Floorball, Football, Formula 1, Futsal, Golf, Greyhounds, Handball, Horse Racing, Ice Hockey, MMA, Martial Arts, MotoGP, Motor Sports, Olympic Games, Politics, Rugby, Snooker, Speedway, Surfing, Table Tennis, Tennis, Volleyball, Water Polo, Winter Sports, and Baseball.
I think it’s fair to say Unibet’s sports offering is good – but one area where they could improve is the quality of their odds. If you compare their odds to other major bookmakers – time and time again, you’ll find that Unibet’s odds are worse. This seems to be particularly prevalent with football and horse racing.
Banking – Deposit/Withdrawal Options
When it comes to depositing and withdrawing, Unibet offers far fewer payment methods than I would have expected to see at a global bookie. Currently, players can deposit and withdraw using VISA, MasterCard, Skrill, Neteller, Webmoney, ecoPayz, paysafecard and – in some countries – Instant Banking.
There are no fees attached to depositing, and funds are credited to your player account instantly.
On the face of it, Unibet’s withdrawal structure looks attractive. They have a huge daily withdrawal limit of $/£250,000 – more than most people will ever need to withdraw. However, my main concern arises when you look at the speed at which they are processing withdrawals.
Three or four years ago, I remember reading that Unibet was processing withdrawals incredibly quickly – often in as little as a few hours. However, a quick glance online shows this just isn’t the case anymore – and some bettors are being made to wait days or weeks for their withdrawals to be processed.
What’s worse, many of these bettors are being made to undergo extremely stringent SOW checks. This requires them to upload proof of their income – as part of the UK Gambling Commission’s new commitment to ensuring players are gambling within their means.
Unfortunately, the rules are very unclear – and some online gambling sites are choosing to take a heavy-handed approach. What’s worse is that Unibet is asking players to provide this information only when making a withdrawal. They are happy for players to deposit as much money as they like – but when it comes to withdrawing, players must undergo these checks.
This alone is enough for me to recommend you stay well away from Unibet. Here at Mobile Betting Site you’ll find information about tons of reputable, fast-paying bookmakers – so make sure you take a look around and read our in-depth reviews.
Safety and Security
Unibet holds two online gambling licenses, one from the UK Gambling Commission and one from the Maltese Gaming Authority. This is promising, at least, as both of these operators are known for ensuring licensees are adhering to laws and regulations. Don’t forget though; just because Unibet are holding a license, it doesn’t mean they’re treating their customers fairly.
In 2019 Platinum Gaming Ltd, who own Unibet, were made to pay a fine of £1.6m for failing to identify gambling harm and prevent money laundering.
Whenever I see actions like this taken against a site for anything to do with failing to protect vulnerable people, or helping to fund organised crime through money laundering, it is a major red flag for me and I will never bet with a site that does this.
In terms of their website’s safety and security I was happy to see their SSL certificate is valid and up-to-date. This ensures bettor’s sensitive information is safe and secure. That’s fine, but doesn’t do anything to mitigate the other issues.
Customer Service/Support
Like most of the larger bookmakers I come across, Unibet offers three ways for customers to get in touch with their customer support team; live chat, email and phone. Their support centre is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week too, so if you do run into problems (and that’s quite likely!) you should be able to speak to someone no matter what time of day it is.
Unibet Poker App
Personally, I’d always recommend you get in touch using the live chat facility. This will connect you with one of the customer support reps in just a minute or two. If you decide to go ahead and email them, be prepared to wait between 24-48 hours. Their email response times are poor, and this support option should only be used as a last resort.
Currencies
Unibet does actually offer a decent selection of currencies. This includes BRL, CHF, CZK, DKK, EUR, GBP, HUF, LTL, NOK, PLN, RON, SWK, and USD.
Allowed Countries
Unibet restricts players from the following countries from placing bets at their site: Afghanistan, Australia, Denmark, Estonia, Ethiopia, France and other French territories, Hong Kong, Iran, Iraq, Italy, Jordan, Kuwait, North Korea, Pakistan, Philippines, Portugal, Spain, Syria, Turkey, Romania, Ireland, United States of America and other U.S. territories, and Yemen.
Summary: Do Not Join
I hope this Unibet review has convinced you that this is not a good place to bet online. But the positive news is that there are lots of great betting sites and apps out there, as well as a few rogue ones. Check out our other reviews and pick one that offers you the service you deserve.
