Dabo is a mini-game introduced in Season Two: Ancient Enemies of Star Trek Online.

Locations[edit | edit source]
Dabo can be played in various locations throughout the game. Simply walk up to the Dabo table in one of the following places:
- Quark's at Deep Space 9
- Paradise City bar on Nimbus III
- Summer Beach Resort on Risa
- D'Kora-class Marauder Bridge
- Nandi-class Warship Bridge
How to play[edit | edit source]
The Dabo wheel has a total of 36 slots, 27 on which you can bet. Bets can be placed at a minimum of 100 to a maximum of 1 million Energy Credits or Gold-Pressed Latinum. Payouts will always be rewarded as GPL.
Values[edit | edit source]
After the wheel is turned, the icons from the three wheels at an individual slot are compared by
- Color (red, green, blue)
- Shape (square, circle, triangle)
- Count (one, two or three)
The payouts depend on the number of matches in these three categories. Example:
In this example, there is a match of two icons with regard to shape (the color-less triangle and the red triangles) and a match with regard to count (three triangles and three squares). This result is abbreviated: 'Shape X 2 Count X 2'
As the inner wheel has no color, ideally, one can get a match of three icons with regard to count and shape and a match of two icons with regard to color. Such a combination (Shape X 3 Color X 2 Count X 3) is called a Dabo.
Special icons[edit | edit source]
There are additional icons, that may modify the result:
- The so called Swirl is a joker, that can act as any color, shape or count
- Two or more Quarks give a high payout.
- DS9 icons work like Quarks, but have a lower multiplier
- A black hole will match with nothing except itself and swirls.
A combination of three DS9s, Swirls and Quarks are special Dabos with increased payouts.

Strategy[edit | edit source]
There is no winning strategy for Dabo creating an expected payout in favor of the player. Overall the game is balanced in favor of the houseβthe expected payout in Gold-Pressed Latinum is 88.01% of any bet. So Dabo is basically a conversion mechanism to buy GPL for EC at a rate of approximately 1:1.72.
The best possible scenario pays out 400,000% (a bet with a quark dabo and two swirl dabos). The high-value special icons are spaced on the default dabo wheel as follows: quarks (slot 17), swirl (slots 8 and 28), DS9 (slots 11, 22, 34). Note that slots 5-7, 17-19, and 29-31 cannot be bet on. This 400,000% payout is possible only when all three wheels align and can only be bet on in any of the following 15 configurations (the first 6 do not block any DS9 icons):
